Students who study Spanish for work-related reasons have specific language requirements that involve the need to communicate effectively with Spanish-speaking clients, customers, students, and patients. Special "Survival Spanish" classes and "Charlas" provide them with functional language and cultural information to enhance their effectiveness with Spanish speakers in the workplace.

Visits with Mexican counterparts provide the opportunity to share ideas and converse about profession related subjects. The morning program can be complemented with volunteer internships in the Cuernavaca community during the afternoon, in which the student uses Spanish in a real-life setting.
